About Our School

Where art meets inquiry and every voice belongs.

Founded in 2007 by arts educator Alex White, Gotham Professional Arts Academy is a Brooklyn public high school (grades 9–12) that puts art and culture at the heart of a rigorous, inquiry-based curriculum. Our three-track arts program—Visual Arts, Performing Arts, and Media Arts—ensures every student discovers their creative voice while mastering the skills to succeed in college and beyond.

We nurture the whole child through restorative practices, social justice, and community partnerships, preparing students to navigate and design our ever-changing world as activists, scholars, and global citizens.
