About Our School

Where future healthcare leaders begin their journey.

Founded in 2008, High School for Medical Professions serves grades 9–12 with a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum rooted in medical sciences. Our signature Health Professions Program offers hands-on clinical experiences, partnerships with local hospitals, and Advanced Placement courses in biology and chemistry.

We believe in nurturing both academic excellence and empathy, ensuring every student graduates ready to serve their community as skilled, compassionate professionals. From anatomy labs to community health fairs, our students learn by doing—preparing not just for college, but for lives of impact in medicine.

Our Programs

Preparing students for success in medicine and beyond.

Health Professions Program

A four-year sequence of courses in anatomy, physiology, and clinical skills, including internships at local hospitals and nursing homes. Students earn certifications in CPR, first aid, and medical terminology.

Dual-enrollment courses with CUNY colleges and Advanced Placement offerings in biology, chemistry, and environmental science. Over 80% of students take at least one AP science course before graduation.
