Founded in 1925, William McKinley I.S. 259 serves 1,600 students in grades 6–8 with a Regents-tracked curriculum, screened programs, and a vibrant after-school community. From algebra to artificial intelligence, we prepare students for high school and beyond.
We believe middle school is a time of exploration, growth, and belonging. Our diverse student body—49% Asian, 24% White, 23% Hispanic, and 1% Black—reflects the rich tapestry of Brooklyn, and our extended-day programs ensure every student has the support they need to thrive.
