Founded in 1975, Stephen Decatur Magnet School serves grades 6–8 in the heart of Bedford-Stuyvesant. Our magnet theme—Leadership, Exploration, and the Arts—guides a rigorous, student-centered curriculum that empowers young scholars to think critically, create boldly, and lead with confidence.
We believe education should be as vibrant as our community. From project-based learning to arts integration, we nurture the whole child, ensuring every student feels seen, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.
