Founded on the belief that kindness and academic rigor go hand-in-hand, P.S. 9 Sarah Anderson serves Pre-K through 5th grade in the vibrant Upper West Side. Our nationally recognized programs—from Orton-Gillingham literacy to hands-on science and social-emotional learning—ensure every student thrives.

Literacy & WIN Program

Our What I Need (WIN) program groups students by reading level across grade levels, ensuring targeted instruction in phonics, comprehension, and fluency. Combined with Orton-Gillingham and Wit&Wisdom curricula, we build confident, joyful readers and writers.

From robotics and coding to hands-on science with Amplify and FOSS, students engage in inquiry-based learning. Our partnerships with Carnegie Hall, NYC Ballet, and local museums bring the city’s resources into the classroom—and the classroom into the world.
