About Our School

Where every child belongs.

Founded in 1995 and named for Dr. Jonas Salk, Salk School of Science serves grades 6–8 with a mission to engage students in learning that is personally meaningful, socially responsible, and academically rigorous. Our enriched science program empowers students to think like scientists—observing, questioning, and solving real-world problems.

Rooted in our six core values, we cultivate open-hearted, open-minded learners who take action to improve the world around them. From field trips to NYC’s cultural institutions to partnerships with scientists, we prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century.
