About Our School
Where every student becomes a leader.
Founded in 2005, the Urban Assembly Academy of Government and Law is a small public high school in Manhattan’s Lower East Side serving grades 9–12. Our signature law-themed curriculum—featuring courses in Law & Ethics, Forensic Science, and Advanced Legal Topics—prepares students for college and careers in government, law, and technology.
We believe in the power of civic engagement and critical thinking to create a more just society. Through moot court, mock trials, and partnerships with NYC law firms, students gain real-world experience that builds confidence and leadership.
